We book an initial chat to understand your business, your goals, and what you need. You can book yours in here. We'll talk through your project requirements, determine the right scope, and identify the package that makes sense for you and your business.

That first conversation is about your business as much as your website: what you sell, who you sell it to, and how enquiries reach you now. It usually takes an hour or so, by phone or video call. From there we put the scope, the package that fits and the full schedule in writing, so you know exactly what you're agreeing to before anything starts.

Discovery and planning

We research your industry, your competitors, and your audience, and prepare a project plan with a sitemap, content strategy, and design direction.

Discovery is where we learn about the work you do and the work you'd like to do more of, the customers you serve best, and where competitors have left gaps you can fill. This step regularly turns up strengths that clients have never thought to put on their website. The plan that comes out of it, the sitemap, the content for each page and the design direction, influences all later decisions.

Design, refinement and build

We design your website around everything we've learned about your business, then refine the design and content with your feedback until every page reads and works the way it should. Then we build the site that's right for your business.

You see the design before it's built, and every page goes through a review round where your feedback shapes the next draft. If you'd rather not write the words yourself, we write them in your voice from what we learned in discovery. Most builds run 1 to 3 months, and the biggest factor in the timeline is having the content ready.

Care and management

Your site goes live on one of our highly refined, managed hosting environments with a dedicated management plan to cover everything your website needs: hosting, security, updates, monitoring, backups and support from our team.

Your first twelve months of hosting and management are included with your build. Behind the scenes, updates are applied on a regular schedule, backups run automatically, forms and search are watched, and uptime is checked around the clock. Changes are an email away, usually made the same day, and a short plain-English report lands in your inbox each month.

Most builds run 1 to 3 months, and a larger or more involved one can take longer. The single biggest factor is content, so projects move faster when the words and photos are ready, or when you hand that part to us.

If you are up against a deadline, ask. We can sometimes take on an urgent build with a 1 to 2 week turnaround, subject to scope and availability.
We work with you to set a budget for your project that makes sense for you and your business. You can choose from one of our existing build packages, engage in our partner program or request a custom quote.

On most of our builds there is no dashboard and no login. You email the change and we make it, usually the same day. Most owners find that faster than doing it themselves, and it means nothing ever breaks. If you do need to publish your own content regularly, we build for that instead. It is one of the things we work out together early on.
Yes, and most clients take us up on it. Content is written in your voice and in the language your customers actually use, working from what we learn about your business during discovery. If you would rather write it yourself, we will give you a clear brief for every page and edit what comes back.
For many projects we handle graphic design work in-house, and for more specialised needs we collaborate with talented third-party designers. Where it makes sense, we can manage the design process for you and match the right approach to your project.
Once you're engaged with us, you'll have direct access to our email, where you can reach out anytime to ask questions, make requests, or schedule a meeting. You'll also be able to book time with us directly through our calendar.
